Tools to Take People From Here to There
Ask, "I'm curious, where are you from?". Know "who" they are and "how" they are
Have consistent, private, uninterrupted one-to-ones. There is no more important conversation
Manage your "AA Ratio", how many questions to you ask vs. answer. 9 ask to 1 answer
Control your time and respect theirs. Know what an hour of your time is worth
Engage with them and avoid distractions. Eliminate, dings, buzzes and notifications
Create an environment of accountability so they can hold themselves accountable
Give clear direction, check for understanding. Build conversational capacity
Live out, look for and acknowledge core values. Yours, theirs and the company's
